The South Korean smartphone brand, LG, has been in the news lately for launching a new mid-range smartphone in its home country. The LG Q70 smartphone will be the latest addition to the family of Q-series. It is the company’s first smartphone to come up with a punch-hole display on the front panel, or what the brand calls, Hole-in-display. The new device has everything that you can ask for in a mid-range phone. With Q70, LG hopes to compete with its biggest rival- Samsung Galaxy A50. The phone will hit the Indian markets on Nov 21. Military-level durability

LG Q70 is made from glass back and has a metal frame. It is Hi-Fi Quad DAC and MIL-STD-810G compliant which means that it can withstand impact, vibration, high temperature, thermal shock, and humidity.

Display

LG Q70 will feature an IPS LCD screen that measures 6.4-inches with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. The phone boasts of full HD resolution of 2310 x 1080 pixels with 398 PPI. Q70 has made real progress in terms of screen colour and contrast over its predecessor Q60. Additionally, the phone has improved brightness levels which allow users to use the phone without causing strain on their eyes in dark environments.

Camera

LG Q70 features three cameras; a 32MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 13MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP depth sensor setup at the back. The triple rear cameras can take stunning photos and record videos distortion-free, even in loud and noisy environments. The phone also has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter for selfies and video calling. In addition to this, the cameras offer features like portrait mode, bokeh mode, auto flash, face detection, and more.

Battery

The mobile houses a generous 4,000 mAh long-lasting battery with QC 3.0 fast charging. The device will warn you when it detects that an app is consuming excess battery.

Performance

Like most other mid-range phones, LG Q70 will run on snapdragon 675 from QUALCOMM paired with 4 GB of RAM. Q70 is powered with a 612 Adreno graphics card for the best possible gaming performance. To top it all, it also has 64 GB of internal memory that can be further expanded with a microSD card.

Connectivity features

LG Q70 will have a dedicated Google Assistant button. A simple command of, “OK Google”, will find you answers, manage your tasks, and make your everyday life easier than ever. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner at the backside of the phone. Moreover, LG Q70 is one of the few phones in the mid-range segment to feature a 3.5mm audio jack.

Price, availability and release date

LG Q70 is all set to launch in South Korea at 5,48,900 KRW which converts to 32,550 INR. Q70 will be launched in a single colour (mirror black) on 21 November 2019 in India.
