Google Pixel 5 with Triple Cameras and IR Face Camera Launching Soon

Year 2020 is set to be the year for flagships phones from giants like Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and One Plus. Can Google be far behind? Though the dust has not yet settled on its latest offering, Pixel 4, rumours are rife about Google Pixel 5 storming the market in October this year. Netizens are expecting this latest offering to be an upgrade over its predecessor. Here are some features that are likely to be available in Pixel 5.

Triple cameras

The camera on Google phones are always appreciated. This year it is geared to add an extra camera at the back. Pixel 4 already had the much-adored telephoto lens. Additionally, Google is expected to add an ultra-wide camera as well to its next iteration, improving portrait photography.

Secure and fast face unlocking

Pixel 4 already has two infrared (IR) cameras to power its Face Unlock technology. The same is sure to be incorporated in Pixel 5. The futuristic Soli radar chip senses the approach of your hand. When you pick the phone up, the accelerometer detects it and triggers a face unlock attempt. Once in position, the IR sensors click in action and read your face to unlock the phone quickly.

Longer battery life and enhanced storage

The main peeve against Pixel 4 was its battery life draining too fast, especially when bigger batteries are becoming the norm in the flagship phones. The long wait for Pixel 5 surely signifies that Google is assimilating user feedback to retool its technology. A 4,000 mAh battery is the minimum expectation.

Google limited the storage capacity in its erstwhile rollout Pixel 4 to 64GB, expandable up to 128 GB. However, this does not make the cut in today’s era when most brands are offering 256 GB and more. Google is sure to keep up.

5G Capacity

Year 2019 saw the advent of the 5G cellular network. Year 2020 is fully expected to see most smart devices embracing this technology. Pixel 5 is getting enough time to incorporate this super-fast mobile network to enable superior connectivity, utilizing both sub-6GHz frequencies and mm Wave technologies.

Stunning Display

The 90/120 Hz displays are increasingly becoming customary among the big names in smartphones. Google Pixel 5 is sure to present an uber-smooth user experience with this state-of-the-art technology pairing it with Full HD+, or maybe even Quad HD+ OLED display panels.

Futuristic Processor

Qualcomm Snapdragon processors are usual in Google phones. By the time Google doles out Pixel 5, it will be the age of the Snapdragon 865. The tech giant is sure to use this platform in its newest offering. It will run on the most modern Android Q, with a minimum of 8GB RAM maintaining the standards of the latest flagships. With all the latest upgrades, the projected price of Google Pixel 5 is Rs 70,000.
