There are multiple ways you can download your Aadhar card, right from using your Aadhar number and DOB to apps like DigiLocker and UMANG. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to download Aadhar card via all these methods.

How to download an Aadhar card from the UIDAI site?

You can easily access and download your Aadhaar card from the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India using your Aadhaar or Enrollment number. Here’s how you can do it-

1. Visit the official UIDAI website and select your preferred language

2. Scroll down to “Get Aadhaar” and click on “Download Aadhaar” in the shortcut links given below

3. Select from Aadhaar number/Enrollment ID/Virtual ID and enter the chosen number

4. Enter the captcha provided and click on “Send OTP.”

5. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.

6. Select “Masked Aadhaar” to download a masked Aadhaar.

7. Click “Verify and Download” to download a protected copy of your Aadhaar card.

A password-protected PDF of your Aadhaar card will be downloaded on your device. You can access it using a password, which is a combination of the first four letters of your name followed by the year of birth in YYYY format. For example- ZZZZ1998.

How to download Aadhar card with an Aadhar number

You can easily access your Aadhar card online if you have your Aadhar number. Here’s how:

Step 1: Visit the official Aadhaar website and choose the “Aadhaar Number” option.

Step 2: Input your 12-digit Aadhaar number.

Step 3: Enter the Captcha verification code.

Step 4: Click on “Send OTP” to receive a one-time password on your registered mobile number.

Step 5: Opt for a “Masked Aadhaar” if desired, enter the OTP, and click “Verify & Download.”

Step 6: Your Aadhaar card will download as a password-protected PDF in your Downloads folder. Use the first 4 letters of your name in uppercase and your birth year in YYYY format as the password to open it.

Note: A ‘Masked Aadhaar’ card displays only the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number for added security. It’s as valid as a regular e-Aadhaar for all purposes.

How to download Aadhar card with your date of birth

Retrieving your e-Aadhaar online is possible even if you don’t remember your Aadhaar number, Enrolment ID, or Virtual ID. You can use your name and date of birth to access it. Here’s how:

Step 1: Go to the official Aadhar website – https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/retrieve-eid-uid.

Step 2: Fill in your full name and provide either your registered e-mail ID or mobile number.

Step 3: Type in the Captcha/security code displayed.

Step 4: Select “Send OTP.”

Step 5: Enter the OTP received on your registered e-mail or mobile, and click “Verify OTP.”

Step 6: A notification will confirm that your Aadhaar number or enrolment ID has been sent to your registered contact.

Step 7: Now, input the 28-digit enrolment ID or 12-digit Aadhaar number received, along with the Captcha code, and hit “Send OTP.”

Step 8: Once you receive another OTP, enter it and click on “Verify & Download.”

Step 9: Open your downloaded e-Aadhaar with an 8-character password, combining the first four letters of your name in uppercase and your birth year in YYYY format.

How to download e-aadhar card using EID/VID number

You can also do an Aadhar card pdf download using your Virtual ID number (VID)/Enrolment ID (EID) on the UIDAI portal. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Visit UIDAI’s e-Aadhaar Page and select the ‘Download Aadhar’ option.

Step 2: Input your 28-digit enrolment ID and the security code.

Step 3: Click to generate an OTP, which will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 4: Enter the OTP and select ‘Verify and Download’.

Step 5: After verification, your e-Aadhaar will be ready for download.

To generate it using your enrolment ID, use your EID in the second step along with the security code. The following steps remain the same, generate an OTP, verify the OTP sent to your mobile number, and then complete the UIDAI Aadhar card download.

Download Aadhar card through the UMANG app

The Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance, or UMANG app, brings various Government services onto a single platform, including Aadhar card mobile download. Here’s how you can do that in a few steps:

Step 1: Install and open the UMANG app on your smartphone, available for both iOS and Android.

Step 2: Tap on the “All Services” tab at the bottom. Use the search bar at the top to find “My Aadhaar.”

Step 3: Navigate to the “Download Aadhaar” option under the fourth tab.

Step 4: Enter your Aadhaar number and the Captcha code shown.

Step 5: Click “Send OTP.” Input the OTP received on your registered mobile for verification.

You can also access your Aadhar card through the cloud-based document management platform, Digilocker. For Aadhar card soft copy download through DigiLocker, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Access DigiLocker’s official site at https://digilocker.gov.in/. Sign in using your registered mobile number and the 6-digit security PIN.

Step 2: Verify your account by entering the OTP sent to your mobile, and hit “Submit.”

Step 3: Locate your Aadhaar card in the “Issued Documents” area.

Step 4: Click the “Save” icon to download your Aadhaar card.
