Managed by the state’s Revenue and Disaster Management Department, this portal aims to bring transparency to land-related information. -Facilitates easy registration, update, access, and maintenance of land records, making these processes more user-friendly for the general public.

-Ensures interconnectedness among various administrative levels such as subdivisions, sub-registrars, circle offices, land records directorates, and the offices of deputy commissioners, promoting seamless coordination in land management.

-As of now, approximately 26,000 land records have been digitized and made available on the portal, with plans to digitize more records in the future.

-The portal has significantly simplified land record management in Assam, eliminating many of the hassles previously associated with these processes.

-Issuance of No Objection Certificates (N.O.C.) online for the transfer of movable property, in compliance with Section 21A of the Property Registration Act.

-Monitor the status of the N.O.C., allowing property owners to track the progress and approval of their applications.

-Regular updates to online land records, ensuring current and accurate information is available on the Dharitree Assam land records portal.

How to check Assam land records using ILRMS

To check online land records Assam on the Dharitree portal, follow the steps listed below:

Step 1: Visit the official ILRMS Assam website at revenueassam.nic.in/ILRMS. The website will appear in Assamese. You can change the language setting to English or Hindi when prompted.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on ‘Jamabandi’ or ‘Land Record’.

Step 3: Choose your district from the list on the left side of the webpage.

Step 4: Select your circle, followed by the village name on the right side.

Step 5: Enter the required details like the Dag number, fill in the captcha, and click ‘search’.

Step 6: If you don’t know the Dag number, search using the Pattadar name or Patta number.

Step 7: The records will appear on the screen; select the desired Jamabandi to view details.

You will have to pay a small fee to access Assam land records. It varies between Rs. 50 and Rs. 200 based on the service.

Also, if you can’t find Assam land record details for a particular parcel or land or if the information is not accessible on the portal, there’s a possibility that the data is absent because cadastral maps or Bhunaksha of certain villages and regions are not available. To validate this, you will have to visit your district’s Revenue Office.

What is Dag and Patta number?

Dag number

In Assam, every land parcel is assigned a unique identifier by the government known as the Dag Number, which is compulsorily required when searching Jamabandi Assam records. It simplifies the process of locating specific land records. In northern India, this identifier is referred to as the Khasra number.

Patta number

The Patta Number is related to the ownership of land parcels in Assam and plays a vital role in establishing legal land ownership and addressing issues related to landless people in Assam.

When land ownership is transferred in Assam, the transaction is formalized with a patta document, which includes the Patta Number.

In 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in collaboration with the Assam Government, initiated a program to distribute land allotment or Patta certificates to over one lakh landless individuals. This significant step was taken in response to a government panel’s finding that approximately 90% of the population lacked formal proof of land ownership.

Pattadar

In Assam, a pattadar is an individual who holds a land ownership certificate. There is always one pattadar for a given land parcel in Assam that possesses all the information about the land, along with the ownership certificate. Needless to say, you must have the Pattadar details to access Assam land records.
