Guntha was derived from the ancient land measurement system of the Indian subcontinent; it is one of India’s recognised units of land measurement. This unit is commonly used in rural areas as a simplified version of Hectare, Acre and Cent for measuring small plots. One Guntha is equal to 0.06 Bigha and is widely used in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha.
