Acre is a standard unit used for measuring large land areas. It is widely used in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, India, Pakistan, and other South Asian countries. For easier understanding, an acre can be visualised as a square field packed with 150 average-sized cars.
The value of an acre is equivalent to 4,840 square yards or 43,560 square feet. An acre can also be defined as a rectangle measuring 1 furlong in length and 1 chain in width, where 1 furlong equals 660 feet and 1 chain is 66 feet.
Marla is a unit for measuring land area. It is a traditional unit mainly used in India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. In India, the unit is popularly used in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. One marla is roughly equal to 272.25 square feet.
