Goodson, Peter

Advisor, Tata Capital Growth Fund

Peter Goodson is a pioneer in the private equity discipline as an early stage partner at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (C,D&R),  which  acquired over $80 billion worth of businesses partnering with managements to enhance value operationally.

Before joining C,D & R, Peter Goodson was a Manager Director at Kidder, Peabody & Co., where, at the age of 26, he founded the M&A Group in 1972. He personally participated in over 800 corporate assignments and was an early innovator in developing state of the art M&A advisory practices at investment banking firms.

Peter Goodson has taught at University of Berkeley, Haas School of Business for the last 8 years. He has also taught or lectured at Harvard Business School, Kellogg School of Management, NYU Stern and Columbia Business School. He was awarded the Outstanding Teaching award by the students of the Haas School of Business consistently for several years.

Peter Goodson recently created the Value Optimization Board for Mekong Capital in Vietnam, and is advising a number of developing enterprises in many of the emerging frontier economies, such as Mongolia. He is a fellow at the Tuck Center for Entrepreneurialism and Private Equity and is a frequent speaker on the evolution of private equity practices.


Khanna, Tarun

Professor Khanna has studied and worked with national and multinational companies and investors in emerging markets worldwide. He joined the faculty of Harvard Business School in 1993 and has directed several courses on strategy, corporate governance and international business targeted towards MBA students and senior executives at Harvard.

Professor Khanna currently teaches in Harvard's executive education programs and is Faculty Chair for HBS's activities in India. Professor Khanna's bestselling book, Billions of Entrepreneurs: How China and India are Reshaping Their Futures and Yours, focuses on the drivers of entrepreneurship in China and India. He is also the co-author of Winning in Emerging Markets: A Roadmap for Strategy and Execution, published by Harvard Business Press in April 2010.

In 2007, Professor Khanna was nominated as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. In 2009, he was elected a fellow of the Academy of International Business. Professor Khanna holds an engineering degree from Princeton University and a Ph.D. from Harvard University.


Khusrokhan, Homi

Senior Advisor, Private Equity

Homi Khusrokhan joined the Tata group as Managing Director of Tata Tea Limited in 2001. Mr. Khusrokhan joined the Board of Tata Chemicals Limited in 2004 and was appointed as the company's Managing Director in 2006. Prior to joining Tata, he was the Country Head & Managing Director of the Glaxo group in India from 1996 to 2000 and also served as the Managing Director of Burroughs Wellcome in India.

During his tenure with Tata Tea Limited and Tata Chemicals Limited, Mr. Khusrokhan was part of the senior leadership team that managed several cross-border acquisitions including Tetley, Brunner Mond and General Chemicals Industrial Products.

Presently Mr. Khusrokhan serves as director on the boards of several leading Indian companies including ICICI Bank, Tata AIG Life Insurance Company, Rallis, Advinus Therapeutics, Samson Maritime and Novalead Pharma. Mr. Khusrokhan obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (honours) degree from the University of Mumbai and is a qualified chartered accountant. He also holds a Masters degree in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.


Mashelkar, R.A.

Senior Advisor, Tata Capital Innovations Fund - Trust

Dr.R.A. Mashelkar, CSIR Bhatnagar Fellow, is presently the President of Global Research Alliance, a network of publicly funded R&D institutes from Asia -Pacific, Europe and USA with over 60,000 scientists.

Honoured with Padmashri (1991) and Padma Bhushan (2000) for his contribution to nation building. Dr Mashelkar has served Director General of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) with 38 laboratories for over eleven years. He has been elected as Fellow of Royal Society (FRS), London and Foreign Associate of National Academy of Science (USA). He is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister and the Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Dr Mashelkar has published 250+papers, more than 20 books and has more than 25 patents.


Telang, Prakash

Senior Advisor, Private Equity

Prakash Telang joined Tata Motors in 1972 through the prestigious Tata Administrative Service (TAS) programme and spent four decades in various roles within the company. In 2009, Mr. Telang was appointed as Managing Director of the firm's India operations.

During his tenure at Tata Motors, Mr. Telang oversaw the development of some of the company's most successful products and played a significant role in cost reduction and e-procurement initiatives which have enabled the company to improve its operations.

Mr. Telang has also served on the boards of several of Tata Motors- joint ventures including: HV Transmissions Limited, Telco Construction Equipment Company Limited, HV Axles Limited and the Automobile Corporation of Goa.

Presently, Mr. Telang serves as a Director on the board of Telco Construction Equipment Company Limited and Persistent Systems Limited. Mr. Telang holds an engineering degree from Nagpur University and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.



Mohan Harshey

Advisor, Tata Capital Innovations Fund

Mohan conceptualized and led the efforts in successfully raising the Tata Capital Innovations Fund in 2009. He was Partner of the fund till he superannuated in June 2015.

He has vast experience in investments, merchant banking, SME & Corporate lending and private equity.

Prior to joining Tata Capital, he was the head of domestic treasury at State Bank of India (SBI). In his long stint of 31 years in SBI, he held various assignments in India and United States. During his tenure in treasury, he also started Private Equity business.

He is a postgraduate in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. He is also a National Science Talent Search Scholar.
