Redmi launched its latest entry-level smartphone, Redmi 8A Pro, on April 2, 2020.  It is available for sale in Indonesia and is expected to arrive in India on or around June 26, 2020. Processor

Snapdragon’s octa-core 439 chipset powers Redmi 8A Pro and the phone runs on Android 9 (Pie) with a custom MIUI 11 on top. It has four Cortex A52 cores having 1.95GHz frequency and four Cortex-A53 cores that clock 1.45GHz. The phone, thus, ensures a smooth performance that is standard for entry-level phones.

Redmi 8A Pro Camera

Camera

The 8MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture is positioned in a water-drop style notch in the front. Housing the dual-camera setup at the back, the phone sports a primary 13 MP camera with an aperture size of f/2.2. On the other hand, the secondary camera has a 2MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 1.75-micron pixel size, which is quite sizeable for an entry-level smartphone.  Features like autofocus, portrait mode, AI scene detection, and Google lens support are present in 8A Pro too.

Battery and storage

The phone is backed by a massive 5000mAh non-removable battery, which is expected to last at least an entire day, once fully charged. Also, the battery supports 18W fast charging.

There are two variants of 8A Pro, one with 2GB and the other with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, which consumes less power and provides considerable power savings. It helps in further enhancing the battery life. The phone is shipped with 32GB in-built storage that is expandable up to 512GB with microSD cards.
