OnePlus 8 with Android 10 and 12 GB RAM and 128GB/256GB variant to be launched soon

As per reports, OnePlus is currently working on launching two flagship smartphones: OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. The Chinese manufacturer is aiming to establish itself as a major player in the premium smartphone segment. OnePlus 8 will be the successor to the immensely popular, OnePlus 7. The fresh leaks that appeared on the internet will surely skyrocket your excitement for this flagship release. Here's everything you need to know about the much-awaited smartphone.

What will the phone look like?

Starting with the display, OnePlus 8 will feature a punch-hole display design, along with a screen that curves along both the vertical edges. The upcoming flagship device is expected to arrive with a 6.5-inch display. We already know that the company has confirmed a 90 Hz refresh rate for their all future phones. However, we could also see an increase from 90 Hz to 120 Hz, making it one of the fastest refresh rates on any high-end flagship phone ever. Apart from this, OnePlus 8 will be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader system and AMOLED displays with a punch-hole at the top-left corner. The phone will also support full HD+ resolution.

It looks like the phone will get rid of the pop-up camera for an in-screen front-facing one. Reports also suggest that the rear side of the phone will receive a vertical triple camera setup.

OnePlus 8 hardware: What’s new?

OnePlus 8 may support 5G, which was missing in the OnePlus 7 series. The device will run on Android 10 OS along with a 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Chinese smartphone firm plans to equip its upcoming flagship phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SOC. To recall, OnePlus 7 comes with a 3,800 mAh battery and can last more than 18 hours. Since OnePlus 8 will be the company’s most premium phone ever, we could expect it to come with a battery larger than 4,000mAh. The phone will support the “Warp Charge 30” fast charging technology that promises to charge the device completely within an hour. The handset is also rumoured to support wireless charging.

What’s special about the camera?

It is not yet clear what camera features OnePlus 8 will offer, but there are speculations about a triple camera setup on the rear panel. The current 'Portrait mode' and 'NightScape mode' will also get an upgrade.

When is it releasing and how much does it cost?

While the company hasn’t confirmed the launch date, we all know it is coming soon. Since 2014, the company has consistently launched a few smartphones each year. In fact, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 7, and 7 Pro were all launched in May 2019. OnePlus 8 is expected to cost Rs 39,999 in India and we can hope to see OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro in markets in Q2, 2020.
