The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) was introduced by the government in 2015 to fulfil its mission of “Housing for All by 2022”. This scheme was predominantly introduced for the urban poor. It provides a subsidy to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) by lowering the rates of interest on housing finance, thus making housing loans more affordable to the lower income groups.

It is estimated that residential properties valued at around Rs. 50 lakhs are lying idle in metropolitan cities; ironically there is a shortage of approximately 2 crore housing units for the urban poor. The PMAY attempts to act as a bridge between this gap in demand and supply.

After meeting the eligibility criteria, an applicant receives a unique registration ID or assessment ID which they can use to track the status of their application. The best way to track the status of your application is online.
