SUV is a car category that has gained a name for itself in the Indian market. A key factor of SUVs is the pick-up speed of the car. This means the time within which the vehicle can go from 0 to 100 km/hr.

The SUV segment can be largely divided into the luxury segment and the affordable segment. Moving from luxury to the affordable segment, here are the SUVs with the quickest pick-up time:

Lamborghini Urus

With a pick-up time of 3.6 seconds, the Lamborghini Urus leads the pack. It has a starting price of 3 crore rupees and is undoubtedly a mix of looks and performance. It can reach a top speed of 305 kmph. This is due to its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that puts out 641 bhp of max power and 850 Nm of peak torque.

Bentley Bentayga

Bentley is not only an SUV - it’s a speedy one. The pick-up time for the Bentayga is 4 seconds. It has a 600bhp engine, generating 6,000 rpm and 900 Nm of torque. It has a base price of 3.75 crores and can hit a top speed of 300 kmph. 

BMW X6M

The BMW X6M can go from 0 to 100km/h acceleration in 4 seconds. This is similar to the Bentley Bentagya but affordable. You can own this SUV by spending 92-95 lakhs. The turbochargers in the X6's engine make the car deliver 567bhp.

Mercedes-Benz GLS63

A seven-seater excellent car, it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds. It has a 5.5-liter turbocharged V8 engine which can deliver 577bhp. 

Hyundai Tucson 

Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, it generates a maximum of 182 bhp and 400 Nm. The manual version of the vehicle can do 0-100 km/h in just 9.4 seconds.

Hyundai Creta 

The Hyundai Creta’s 1.6-liter diesel engine variant produces a maximum of 126 bhp and 265 Nm. The manual version can do 0-100 km/h in 10.81 seconds.

Ford EcoSport

The Ford EcoSport with a new 1.5-liter Dragon petrol engine produces a maximum power of 121 bhp and peak torque of 150 Nm. The petrol, manual EcoSport can do 0-100 km/h run in 10.91 seconds.

Mahindra XUV500

The Mahindra XUV500 has a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine with which the car can reach from 0-100 kmph in less than 12 seconds. It has a top speed of 185 kmph. 

Renault Kwid 1.0 

With its three-cylinder petrol engine, it generates a maximum of 67 bhp and 91 Nm torque. It can do 0-100 km/h in 14.33 seconds. This makes it quicker than the Renault Alto K10 that can reach 100kmph mark in 15.87 seconds.
