Dell XPS 15 9570 launched with Core i7 and a 16GB RAM

The Dell XPS Series has always been a crowd favourite, building upon great design and superb performance. As an upgrade on the legacy of its predecessors, XPS 15 is bound to have an edge over the many XPS-15 options available in the market. With its 8th generation Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q, FHD panel, and 512GB SSD, XPS 15 is one of the most power-packed devices available in the market. With powerful specifications under the hood and superb looks over, this laptop is one to look out for. Read on.

Design

The design of the new XPS gives you the ‘Dell feel’ instantly. It sports super-thin “InfinityEdge” bezels around the 15.6-inch screen. The top and bottom of this laptop are made from aluminium and measure 235 X 357 X 17 mm in dimensions. The keyboard deck is wrapped in a slightly rubberized carbon-fibre material. The latest design also flaunts a much-needed fingerprint reader, integrated into the power button, and the WideScreen HD Webcam that sits nicely on the top bezel.

Performance

Well, talking about performance, XPS 15 comes equipped with Intel’s 8th-generation Core i7 CPU. The laptop gains an edge because of its two extra CPU cores over and above the 7th-generation Core i7 chips. It can clock in 14 hours of video playback at a relatively bright 250 to 260 nits, using the built-in Windows Movies & TV Player in aeroplane mode, as per what respective tests showed. The power of DDR4 16GB RAM sticks, and NVidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q GPU, make it an absolute beast for any amount of workload. While XPS 15 9560 featured a 4K IGZO panel, XPS 15 9570 features a 1920 x 1080p backlit, anti-glare InfinityEdge Display.

Cooling

This is one downside of packing a powerhouse in something so small. With XPS 15, the drawback has primarily been the cooling for the voltage regulation modules on the motherboard. When heated up, they fail to supply the CPU with adequate power, so it downclocks a little. Luckily, few workloads stress both the CPU and GPU to 100 % at the same time. This is undoubtedly rare with today’s workloads.

Price

The laptop comes at a price of Rs 1,53,603 for the model equipped with 16GB of RAM and Core i7 8th Gen. The price might seem on the upper end of the spectrum, but considering that the device comes with authentic Windows 10 Home, Microsoft Office Home and Student 2016, and MaxxAudio Pro pre-installed, it's a deal not to be missed.

Dell XPS 15 delivers an amazing value for money. If you don’t want to pay for it at one go, you can consider opting for Tata Capital’s consumer durable loans. These loans are the best way out to have the coolest laptop on hand. Check your eligibility now!
