The S series smartphones from Vivo are top-rated mid-range phones, and any new addition to the series is eagerly anticipated. Vivo has been releasing the teasers of its latest offering in the line-up, the selfie-centric Vivo S6 5G, for quite some time now. Finally, the brand has officially announced the launch date; the company is set to unveil the new smartphone on March 31, 2020, at 7:30 pm Chinese time. Processor and connectivity

The manufacturers have not revealed much about the technical specifications of the upcoming phone. 5G support is confirmed, and rumor has it that Qualcomm's high-performance Snapdragon 765 SoC will power Vivo S6. The device will support dual-mode 5G on both, the SA (Standalone) and NSA (Non-standalone) network.

Rumors suggest dual selfie cameras set in the upper right-hand corner of the front panel, housed in a pill-shaped punch-hole cutout. Design

The official teaser of Vivo S6 reveals a sleek design with a 3D curved glass rear panel and rounded edges. The manufacturers claim that the phone will have a slim body compared to its contemporaries. It is also projected to be lightweight, weighing less than 200 grams. Carrying the handset around and handling it will thus be convenient. Also, it is reasonable to expect a 6.44-inch front panel with a Super AMOLED display, similar to its predecessor Vivo S5.

Vivo S6 Camera

The images uploaded on Vivo's official Weibo page display a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the S6 handset, a speaker grille, microphone, and a slot for the SIM card. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is not visible, which can mean that it is either located at the top or Vivo has skipped it altogether in this edition.

Colour options

The teaser image by Vivo shows off a blue-purple color gradient at the back of the phone. No other color option has been declared yet, but more colors can be expected at the time of the launch.

The company indicated "fast speed" and "strong performance" in its teasers for S6, hinting at a sturdy battery, advanced processor, and improved performance. The price of the phone has not been revealed yet.
