Nokia 5.3 to launch in India alongside two more handsets

Nokia 5.3 to launch in India alongside two more handsets

Nokia has always had a special relationship with India. Despite numerous other smartphone brands joining the fray, Indian Nokia fans have always sworn by ‘Nokia ka bharosa (trust)’. The long-term reputation created by Nokia has made sure that all new Nokia phones continue to be with equal excitement and anticipation.

Speaking of which, this year, Nokia’s parent HMD Global has been quite silent in India this year. With young brands like Oppo, Vivo, Realme launching one mind-blowing handset after another, the vintage Nokia has been slow with its pace. This only makes the wait for the popular Nokia 8.3 more exciting. However, there also seems to be another interesting phone in the fray, the Nokia 5.3. Rumour has it that the 5.3 will soon be launched with two more new Nokia phones soon. Let’s have a look at what we can expect.

Price and availability

While there is no clarity on the other two mysterious handsets, all three new Nokia phones, including the Nokia 5.3 can be expected to arrive in India by late August. The price of the 5.3 also remains a mystery, which makes it a little difficult to plan your purchase. But isn’t that what EMI loans were made for? You can easily opt for a Consumer Durable Loan such as that from Tata Capital, and enjoy the convenience of 0% EMI on mobile and flexible repayment tenures.

At the core of Nokia 5.3

The newest of new Nokia phones can be expected with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, which honestly, isn’t as fast as the Snapdragon 720G which is known for handling heavy tasks with ease. Yet, the 665 can easily run everyday activities like photography, internet browsing, and even multitask smoothly on the Nokia 5.3. That being said, we can expect this phone to fall in the budget category. Internally, the phone could be powered by a 3GB RAM and a 64GB internal memory, which would be expandable as well.

On the display front, this phone could sport a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720X1600 pixels made of Gorilla Glass. It might carry an aspect ratio of 20:9. It is bound to carry the latest Android 10 OS.  With these features and the signature, sleek Nokia look, this phone is sure to be a stunner. The good news is that it can be yours immediately with the help of a Consumer Durable Loan from Tata Capital.

Cameras

These days, even a budget phone with less than 3 cameras is a tad bit disappointing. Nokia seems to have captured the sentiment, as it has reportedly given the Nokia 5.3 four rear cameras. These include

  • A 13 MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture
  • A 5 MP wide-angle shooter
  • 2 MP macro shooter
  • 2 MP depth sensor

It goes without saying that Autofocus and a rear flash are included. The front camera is an 8MP shooter with an aperture of f/2.0. Further details of camera features are not known yet.

Other key features

With dimensions of 164.28 x 76.62 x 8.50 mm and a weight of 180 grams, the Nokia 5.3 is expected to pack in a battery size of 4000 mAh. It could be available in Charcoal, Sand, and Cyan colours. All we know about the sensors is that it could carry a face unlock feature, a fingerprint sensor, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, and an ambient light sensor.

Conclusion

Back in March, Nokia had stated that it is planning to launch the Nokia 5.3 and the Nokia 5310 in India. The third handset still remains a secret. While we know a lot about the 5.3, we will be eager to find out about the other two new Nokia phones as well. The 5.3 can easily trump the likes of Oppo, Vivo, and Redmi in terms of looks, with Nokia’s distinctly slim phone bodies. Whether it stands the test of the chipset and other crucial features remains to be seen. Either way, we have our eyes on this upcoming launch.
